bubbles

so i don't know if i've mentioned it before or not but deuce loves bubbles. i think he really discovered them on our last trip home when we were camping with the chance's and then again at the ellis'. he likes popping them but what he really likes to do is just stand there and flap his arms until they all fly away. i think maybe he thinks if he flaps hard enough he might fly with them. so i invested in this little $2 bubble gun and i think it might have saved our marriage (dave was not a big fan of blowing bubbles). so this is just a series of us playing with the new bubble gun.

he also like to pop them when they stick to the ground (esp when water is involved)

as promised

well as i mentioned before when i made my summer trip to texas deuce got to spend most of it with nana and popo. and i think he was in hog heaven for most of it. from the stories i heard he spent most of the time outside either with the dogs (peaches, aka pee pee) or checking cattle or looking at horses or on the four wheeler. grandpa henke and grandma jeanette also got a few nights of visiting in but i haven't got those pics just yet. nana said he came in every night with a red face and slept like a log. i'm sure he loved every minute of it. nana n popo then flew to north carolina with deuce n then helped us with the move. once deuce is able to remember things i'm sure he will come to look forward to his summer visits with nana n popo and uncle dennis. i think our goal (if mommy n daddy can handle it) is to let the kiddos spend about 3 wks out of the summer at nana n popos. i'm sure they will turn into great memories! with that said i will try to describe the pics the best i can but since i wasn't really there.... i can basically let you know who is in the pics.

well that's all for the pics with nana n popo but the memories will last for a lifetime! a big thanks to nana n popo for taking such great care of our little boy and traveling up here with him and if that wasn't enough helping us out with the move and getting settled in. i think nana unpacked more boxes than me. and i even got popo to hang some curtain rods! thanks again, and we love you guys so much!

big boy move

i know i said my next post was going to be about deuce's visit with nana and popo but i don't have those pics yet and instead of just getting really behing (like usual) i decided to go ahead and blog about deuce's big boy move and blog about the others when i get some pics.
so in mid july after the fam left we made yet another move. this one was by choice (believe it or not). we were granted the opprotunity to move on base into the new housing development and it was pretty hard to resist! i mean how can u say no to free rent, electricity, trash and water. nevermind the fact that dave is now 3 miles from home and we are 1 mile from the gym and just a short drive to pretty much anything else i can think of. so with the move in place we knew deuce's bed would have to come apart to get in and out of the rooms so we just decided to leave it that way and transition him into a "big boy" bed kind of. it's really just his crib (one of those that transitions like 4 diff ways) with one side down.

we really haven't had any trouble with the transition at all. i think one day at nap time i had to go in and remind him it was nap time and he jumped right back in and went to sleep. he is such a big boy now! the last couple of pics are just some random funny shots from the last week.
