things to do during a hurricane lockdown

well this past week was quite eventfull.... nanna came up on wednesday the 3rd and i guess she brought with her hurricane hannah! we were on hurricane watch/lockdown friday and saturday. so we found some things to do.......

here is what i decided to do during the lockdown........

take down wall paper (wich actually turned into a project for nanna, who took down almost the whole kitchen)

and here is what dave n deuce did.....(watched cartoons)

are you starting to notice a pattern? well we survived hannah with only the loss of part of a tree

some of the other happenings for this past week were my bday and of course the start of football season YEAH! (notice the lovely blue, grey and white background, go cowboys!) and of course with nanna being here deuce had a very eventful week!

for my bday we all went to a sports bar to watch monday night football

nanna bought us a grill so of course we had to test it out right away

nanna (grandmas in general) are great for making toys out of stuff just layn around

with

1. an empty box

2. extra pillow

3. unused belt

you get....an indoor wagon! and hours of intertainment!

all in all it was a great week. thanks to nanna for our mini vacation (i don't think dave n i washed a single dish or changed a single diaper while she was here) and deuce loved the full time intertainment!

learning so much

our little boy is growing so fast. so i just thought i would share a few of those things. first off he is officially on the move!!! he started crawling last week and hasn't stopped moving since. as i'm sure most of you have experienced with ur little ones. he now has two more teeth and two more are almost there. and we now pull up on everything!!!!

so this is the vidoe of his very 1st crawl (the right way). he has gottn much better but we were so excited to actually catch it on film the first time. and sorry he is only in his diaper it was kinda a spur of the moment test after we had gotten back from the pool.

his teeth have really been bothering him so we decided to give him a frozen waffle to gum in order to relieve a little of that pain

and this is a pic of how i discover him every time after nap or in when he wakes up in the morning

the "deuce crawl"

just thought i would share with every1 deuce's version of a crawl!

1st trip to the beach

so this past weekend we ventured out from the house and all the work that has come with it and hit the beach. this was deuce's first trip. we have made several to the pool but none to a pool this big!

yes i realize this float is for the water but we figured why not

aww what a cute couple. hee hee

deuce soon decided he wanted to be closer to the water and sand! and yes he def ate some

the rakes fam enjoying the beach that we r now located only 15 mins from!

i was trying to get a close up of how dirty he was. i think we took half the beach home with us that day

daddy is always so much fun!

project #3 ~ our bedroom. remember project #2 is the ongoing front yard project. it really wasn't much to do besides paint. the room (as u will c) was a mint green. not so pretty

i realize the pic makes is look kinda like a dark green but its actually a dark chocolate color

finally deuce has learned to eat the little gerber stars and he loves to play with them as much as he like to eat them

project #1

so i took on the first project. and sorta the second but that one will be a work in progress for a while. i had been unpacking for several days and not really seeing any results so i was losing the drive. i had originally decided not to paint until everything had been unpacked and in its place but since i was losing enthusiasm i thought why not take on a small job like the bathrooms. i thought small space small project.....soon learned that was not the case! although it only took one day it was def a long laborsum day! as i started to upload the pics i realized i never took an original pic of the master bathroom or bedroom for that matter so im kinda mad at myself and you'll have to make do with my description of the previous. both bathrooms were a banana yellow. the master had green floral mirrors and a butterfly toilet seat. very special! i'll let the pics tell the rest of the story.......

it's hard to see the toilet, but trust me its just plain ol white (yes i replaced it myself)

now for the work in progress.... the front flower bed! once you see the pics you'll understand. this is gna take a lot of labor!
